In India, the three releases collectively brought in Rs. 311.57 crore, with Housefull 5 leading the pack at Rs. 160.72 crore. Despite its solid performance, the film's Average verdict and 9th place ranking among Hindi films of 2025 highlight a missed opportunity for a franchise of its stature. The other two films, Sikandar and Baaghi 4, fared even worse, with Sikandar collecting Rs. 103.45 crore but labeled a Disaster, and Baaghi 4 managing only Rs. 47.40 crore with a Flop verdict.
But here's where it gets interesting: overseas, the story takes a different turn. Housefull 5 grossed $6 million, ranking 7th among overseas releases, while Sikandar surprisingly outperformed with $6.316 million, placing 6th for the year. Baaghi 4 added $1.13 million, pushing NGE's overseas total to $13.446 million. This suggests that NGE's brand and casting still resonate internationally, even when domestic reception is less favorable.
Worldwide, the totals are respectable, but the breakdown reveals a similar pattern. Housefull 5 topped the charts with Rs. 242.8 crore, ranking 7th globally, but its Average verdict indicates that the recovery didn't meet franchise expectations. Sikandar and Baaghi 4 followed with Rs. 176.18 crore and Rs. 66.39 crore, respectively. NGE's 2025 worldwide total reached Rs. 485.37 crore, a decent showing for a three-film year, but one that falls short of a clean sweep.
The bottom line is clear: NGE remains a box office powerhouse in terms of reach, but 2025 underscores a growing challenge for major commercial studios. Headline grosses don't always translate into hit outcomes, especially when budgets, marketing, and expectations are set for a different era. Housefull 5 kept NGE in the game, but with a Disaster, a Flop, and an Average, the studio's report card serves as a warning. The next slate must prioritize cost discipline, clear positioning, and content that sustains beyond the initial buzz.
